Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines generate: to be the cause of or reason for something, such as interest or excitement
Young people today face an array of pressures from all around them. Social media tells them what clothes to wear, what kind of phone they should carry, who to hang out with, what music to listen to, what they should look like. Anything outside of what pop culture says is “uncool”, and makes them an easy target to be made fun of.
What would happen if being a Christian was the popular thing to do? What kind of difference would that make in today’s generation of teenagers?
I’ve heard it said that the youth are the church of tomorrow. Not anymore. The time has come for a generation to rise up and stand boldly for what they believe in. The way things have always been isn’t good enough anymore, not for the young people of today. Now is their time.
1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Don’t be surprised when you need prayer in your life, and God sends a youth. Don’t be surprised when the next evangelist to shake the world is still in school. Don’t be surprised when the dead rise, blind eyes are opened, the lame walk, the deaf hear, and the mute speak, all because God heard the cry of a young person’s heart.
The time has come for the youth of America to rise up and take the church to the next level. I see a generation serving the world a healthy dose of the Word of God!
